There are so many Health Documentaries that have been coming out recently and it’s great that they are showing us the real crisis we are facing today as a civilization which is headed towards a short and sad life.
The producers of Hungry for change and Food Matters recently launched their new venture FMTV.com which ofcourse i got a 1 yr membership for. This is the one stop online site for watching all the top documentaries, recipe demonstrations, Yoga demonstrations and so much much more.
So this weekend, i decided to watch Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead by Joe Cross. I had heard and read about his inspiring weight loss journey through juicing on the web but i wanted to know more about his journey. So i got my smoothie made and settled in for a cozy evening of watching his journey.
It was very inspiring to say the least, not only did he lose weight but he healed himself of an autoimmune condition ( Urticaria) which he had been suffering from for the past 9 yrs within 60 days and almost gave up all the steroids he was taking by the end of his juice fast. Not only that, but he helped people along the way ( as he travelled across the US while on the juice fast) heal themselves by teaching them about this simple juice fasting.
Some of the scary key statistics shared were:
- American’s diet consists of 60% of processed foods, 30% of animal products, 5% of whole grains and a shocking 5% only of fruits and vegetables.( of course the major vegetable being potatoes ofcourse.)
- When you consider the nutrition that they are getting through this food, it’s about 1/10th of what they would get if they consumed food in its natural state i.e. Raw. Due to this diet, most people do not get any micro nutrients ( vitamins, minerals, antioxidants) which are so cruical for our body to function properly.
- 70% of disease today is caused by our lifestyle choices: diet, exercise and smoking.
No wonder the state of being fat, sick and nearly dead that most people are experiencing. But worse than that is that most people know the cause of their conditions but yet when asked if they would be interested in trying something new by showing proof of how well it works, the first thing they say is “I COULDN’T DO THAT” without even trying. Yes, there were some people who gave it a shot and experienced the transformations but for the most part people were not willing to take responsibility.
It reminded me of my younger self who was so carefree with my health until i got sick and the suffering was so bad i had to make a change. And once i experienced true health, not only physically but mentally too, my life transformed. So it was very inspiring to see others who have had success in their journey.
So if you too are looking to experience a state of health b’se nothing is as sexy as feeling healthy, check out this movie. See the trailer below.
